Reynolds Wheel Returns

Well it’s taken more than a month to get my wheel back.  After taking it out of the box it appears as though Reynolds have replaced the rim.  If not, then they are damn good at truing a Carbon Fibre wheel! For those who aren’t up to speed, I purchased a set of these excellent wheels from Chain Reaction Cycles (CRC) in late March 2010.  Over the course of the next 2 months these wheels became un-ridable such that I was forced to return them to be repaired under warranty. It all started with a slight lateral buckle.  Shortly after that I broke 2 spokes, then when they were repaired, the wheel buckled again leading me to have the entire wheel re-built and the spokes re-tensioned.    Even this left the wheel with a vertical buckle (a flat-spot).  Contacting CRC they came straight back and requested I send the wheel back.  This I did, and CRC promptly sent the wheel off to Reynolds to repair.  About a month later the wheel has been returned. :)

Now I’ve finally got them back, it’s time to see how they hold up.  I’m confident they’ll work just fine and the original fault has been resolved. If not, they’ll be going back again. :(

Even with the issues I’ve had with the wheels I’m impressed with how both Reynolds & CRC have performed in getting these wheels repaired.  I still love these wheels and really want they to perform as well as when I first installed them on my bike.
